T-MODE T-Meets returns!

T-Meets are local meetup gatherings and food outings around the Metro DC area. They're a fun, casual way to connect with people and share meaningful experiences.

Our first T-Meet of 2023 will be a private tour of the Bloop Museum, with special host Brendan Becker of Inverse Phase (aka "Mr. MAGFest")!

This event is FREE, but registration is mandatory to attend.

Bloop tours are FREE but registration is mandatory to attend this event. In lieu of a paid tour, please consider the following to help support the Bloop Museum:

  • Or our favorite — bring your old games you don't want anymore instead of taking them to the game shop! The Bloop Museum is working on an interactive library of games and media that anyone who comes by the museum can use.

THE BLOOP MUSEUM

The Bloop Museum is a museum about computers, games, and electronic entertainment.

Partnered with Maryland Technology Museum and System Source, you can see systems dating all the way back to the UNIVAC era (like the machine that ran Apollo and Gemini missions) and work your way forward through the history of IBM, Apple, DEC, and more. Check out the new Japanese computer exhibit, and get a selfie with a Cray Supercomputer.

BLOOP MUSEUM TOUR GUIDE

Our tour guide will be none other than Brendan Becker.

Brendan is the Curator, Docent, and Founder of Bloop Museum. He is also an authentic chiptune musician and video game composer under the name Inverse Phase, and has earned the title "Mr. MAGFest" after running MAGFest for ten years.

Brendan's innate curiosity of consoles, computers, and more have led to a near-encyclopedic knowledge which leads to detailed technical writeups and exhibit ideas. He wants to instill that same curiosity in viewers like you. He has some cool stuff, and cool ideas of what to do with it so that the museum will stay fresh and interesting.
